After Hours Emergency Calls
If you have an emergency please call 911 immediately.
For urgent matters that require speaking with the on-call provider, please call our office and leave a message with our answering service. The provider on call will return your message as quickly as possible. Please remember this service is for urgent medical concerns only and should not be used for medication refills, appointment questions, or other non-urgent matters.
No Show/Cancellation Policy
We strive to provide timely access to appointments for our patients. Missed appointments have a significant impact on not only the practice but other patients trying to access our providers for their child’s care. Please note that your account will be subject to a $25 fee for each missed appointment. This fee will also be charged for any appointment cancelled within 2 hours of the scheduled appointment time. Please note that if you continue to miss your child’s appointments, we may ask that you establish with another office.
Vaccination Policy
Independence and Lee’s Summit Pediatrics firmly believes in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. We strongly recommend all patients should be vaccinated. Please be advised that delaying or “breaking up the vaccines” to give them at staggered times or one or two at a time goes against expert recommendations and our medical advice as providers here at Independence and Lee’s Summit Pediatrics.
To receive vaccinations at our practice, we must have a copy of your child’s vaccination records if they were given at another provider’s office. We are unable to provide immunizations without these records.
We acknowledge and honor your rights as parents/guardians to make all healthcare decisions for your child. We will not force you to vaccinate your child against your wishes. If you choose to refuse vaccination, it is the policy of Independence and Lee’s Summit Pediatrics to require a signed Vaccination Policy Form as well as an exemption waiver from the Health Department in the state of your residence. If you cannot comply with this policy, we respectfully ask that you find a healthcare provider more apt to meet your preferences.
