Thank you for choosing Independence and Lee’s Summit Pediatrics for your healthcare needs. We are providing this information to help you understand the process for our ADHD appointments.

If you wish to schedule an appointment for any ADHD concerns the following appointments will be made:
- 1st ADHD consultation
- 2nd ADHD consultation for review a few weeks later
- 3rd follow up ADHD appointment within 30 days of the 2nd appointment
This series of 3 appointments will allow our providers to fully assess your child and their symptoms, prescribe medication if needed or warranted and assess the medications’ effectiveness.
Once a medication has been prescribed and the above appointments have been completed, you will begin having in-office follow-up appointments with a physician every 3 months for ADHD medication checks to assess your child and how they are doing with the medication, their behaviors and any concerns.
In between the 3-month appointments, you will be required to complete a Vanderbilt form monthly for medication refills. The form completion is required to refill any medication and allows the physician to review the form, the medical chart and any concerns that you may have at that time.
It is very important for your child’s health that each appointment is kept and not missed as we cannot refill medications if appointments have not been kept.
